Bob Rimol, owner and founder of Rimol Greenhouse Systems in Hooksett, NH, has spent part of his life as a New Englander, yet it seems fitting that he was born and raised in the Garden State. As a teen, Bob adopted a passion for landscaping and gardening. “I was one of the few kids in the neighborhood whose parents never had to ask to do yardwork, since I was always outside doing a project anyway,” said Bob.
This passion for gardening and agriculture led him to the University of Vermont where he graduated with a degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics. It was at the University of Vermont where Bob’s interests broadened, through learning about horticulture and agriculture as well as the issues facing farmers and small businesses in the green industry.
After graduating college, Bob returned to New Jersey to work in the family business, and later worked for several greenhouse suppliers. In 1994, he decided to relocate back to New England to raise his family and to establish himself as an entrepreneur in the greenhouse industry. The founding of Rimol Associates, which later became Rimol Greenhouse Systems, coincided with the birth of Bob and Karen’s second child in 1994. “I always know the anniversary of the business every year when my daughter has her birthday,” said Bob.
As Rimol Greenhouse Systems has grown, so has the Rimol family. Today Bob lives in Southern New Hampshire with his wife Karen and their three children, Kaitlyn, Meghan and Matthew. Bob enjoys being actively involved in his community as a member of the local Trailways organization, which is currently in the process of creating a bike path on an abandoned railroad site for members of the community to enjoy. In the free time that he has left, Bob can also be found gardening, working around the house, running and skiing.
Co-Owner & Operations
Mike Marett, co-owner of Rimol Greenhouse Systems, joined Bob in 1999 when the business expanded to become a manufacturer of greenhouse structures.
Mike grew up in a small Midwestern town just south of Cleveland, Ohio. As a teenager, he worked on farms and developed an interest in agriculture and growing. Mike graduated from Ohio State University, and afterward spent six years on active duty in the U.S. Navy as well as a number of years in the Naval Reserve. Mike’s experiences in the Navy led him towards a career path involving manufacturing, quality control and operations.
Now, Mike and his wife Cindy live in Southern New Hampshire with their three children, Ryan, Amanda and Jordan. When the Marett children and the Rimol children were young, a close friendship developed between the two families. As Mike learned more about the values and goals of Rimol Greenhouse Systems, an inevitable merging of the minds occurred when Mike joined Bob in 1999 to further the mission of the company.
Mike always keeps busy, with family as his top priority. He can often be found gardening or doing yard work, and he enjoys growing and selling vegetables from his own garden during the summer. Mike also enjoys golfing, camping and other outdoor activities.
New England Sales Manager
John Wells joined the Rimol Greenhouse Systems team in 2005 to cover sales and service of the New England region. John brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from his diverse background in the greenhouse and horticulture industry.
After attending Louisiana Tech University, John went to work for a large grower in Virginia. It was there that John learned to appreciate the luxury of automation and gained an understanding of the sensitive needs of a growing environment.
Up for an adventure and a change of scenery, John moved to the West Coast to work for a grower in California specializing in vegetative propagation. However, eventually the lure of family connections drew John and his wife Karen to Southern New Hampshire to settle and raise their family.
Upon his return to New England, John worked for a grower in a fast paced, marketing-oriented company. It was this experience that led John in the direction of sales and to his current position at Rimol Greenhouse Systems.
“This industry is a great one, as there are so many levels to apply yourself,” explained John. “You can choose to be well-connected to the earth and farm, be on the cutting edge of biotechnology, or be somewhere in between. Being is sales allows me to meet so many people all over the region. I see hard work, talent, and ability come together into success. This is an exciting time in our industry. Things are changing quickly, sometimes more quickly than we like, and improvements are happening just as fast.”
NY and Midwest Sales Manager
Dave grew up in Northern New York near Watertown, where during his high school years he worked at a local nursery and developed an interest in the horticultural trade.
Upon graduation from high school, Dave enlisted in the U.S. Navy and spent three years working on a tugboat stationed out of Jacksonville, Florida. He spent most of this time in Guantanamo Bay, assisting other Navy vessels near Cuba during some turbulent times.
After leaving the Navy, Dave went back to school to receive a degree in Horticulture from SUNY Cobleskill. This led Dave down a path towards becoming a landscape designer and nursery manager.
After some time in the landscape field, Dave decided to change his career focus and began working in sales for another greenhouse supplier before joining Rimol Greenhouse Systems. Dave enjoyed the market of structures and systems, and in 2003, Dave joined Rimol Greenhouse Systems as the regional sales manager for New York State and the Midwest. At Rimol, Dave is able to carry out his passion for designing and implementing greenhouse projects through his work as a sales manager.
Dave currently resides in Fairport, New York, which is just outside of Rochester, with his wife Jennifer. Dave has two daughters, Emily and Morgan, and enjoys his summers at a family cottage in Sackets Harbor, fly fishing and restoring an old wooden boat.
Mid-Atlantic Sales Manager
Ryan Richard grew up on a family farm near Bethany Beach, Delaware. It is a small family farm where they grow produce and flowers. This is where he gained most of his experience as a grower with field crops, greenhouse vegetables in high tunnels and flowers. Ryan’s experience also includes selling in their farm stand and also selling to local restaurants in the area. Ryan is a graduate of Alvernia College in Pennsylvania where he was a lacrosse player. Ryan’s hobbies include travelling, surfing and lacrosse.
Southern Sales Manager
Rimol Greenhouse Systems has added Mark McLane to their sales staff. Mark will handle sales in the company’s southeast territory. He brings over 25 years of greenhouse sales and design experience.
Mark lives in Columbia, SC with his wife and daughter. In 1988 he earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
“ I’ve always had greenhouses in my blood. My first job was watering plants in a greenhouse at the age of 14. My second job was making greenhouse components at Jaderloon.” After college Mark returned to Jaderloon to take a position in sales where he learned greenhouse design and operation. He brings years of experience to Rimol Greenhouse Systems and looks forward to helping his customers become successful. In his free time, Mark enjoys photography and music.
Customer Service/Inside Sales
Western Sales Manager
Gary Watschke began with RGS in September to fulfill the role of inside sales for territories in the West and South, customer service and sales support. He comes to RGS with many years of horticultural experience as a certified golf course superintendent and a strong construction background. Gary’s past experience includes working for Syngenta, Arysta Lifescience and the Sustane Corporation. Gary has a BS in Agronomy from Iowa State University. In his free time, he enjoys golf, fishing and restoration of his home in Weare.
Sales and Tech Support
Harry Edwards has joined Rimol Greenhouse Systems as a sales and tech support rep in the midwestern region. Fittingly, Harry's passion is growing local economies and he believes this is most effectively done by improving the profitability of the farmers who grow and sell locally.
Harry grew up on a farm in Lancaster County PA and learned the values of hard work and dedication early, working in tobacco and hay crops for a neighboring farmer. He raised his family there and passed those values along to his two talented children, Cameron and Afton.
After attending Millersville University and Penn State, and building careers in industrial production and maintenance, and in international sales and logistics, Harry revisited his farming roots.
Harry apprenticed with an Amish farmer growing 20 acres of certified organic vegetables. He then began a career as a market farmer. For the last several years, Harry has worked as a farm manager and consultant, and as a high tunnel salesman. In each case, his focus has been designing and implementing efficient production systems, mastering season extension techniques, and creatively capturing local market opportunities.
As a Rimol representative, Harry is motivated to work with growers to help them to meet their own goals, implementing the tools, techniques and structures that are most appropriate to their management style and budget.
In his spare time, Harry enjoys hiking and hunting, photography, live music and dancing, traveling, cooking and farmers markets.
